Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, during a federal cabinet meeting on Wednesday, pledged to adopt a zero-tolerance policy toward future marches or sit-ins in the federal capital, asserting that such disruptions would no longer be allowed to destabilize the nation or harm its economy.

Addressing the recent PTI-led protest that paralyzed Islamabad for several days, the prime minister stated that strict measures would be taken to prevent such demonstrations. Highlighting the economic repercussions, he revealed that the protests had inflicted daily losses of Rs190 billion, disrupting national exports, imports, and economic activity. PM Shehbaz criticized the PTI leadership for prioritizing personal agendas over the nation's welfare, labeling it a "grave crime" that would not be overlooked.

The cabinet meeting, focused solely on addressing the disruptions, underscored the prime minister’s resolve to safeguard the country's resources from future political unrest. He pointed out that businesses were forced to shut down, traders and factory owners faced losses, and daily wage earners struggled for survival. Hospitals were also affected, with patients unable to reach healthcare facilities. The prime minister further noted the significant economic impact, including a 4,000-point drop in the stock market, amplifying the chaos’s financial toll. Expressing frustration, he condemned the disregard for Islamabad High Court directives by protest organizers.
