No Comeback for Suzuki Mehran: Pak Suzuki Officially Dismisses Viral Re-Launch Rumors

In the midst of growing excitement among car enthusiasts across Pakistan, recent rumors suggesting a grand return of the legendary Suzuki Mehran have now been officially debunked. Pak Suzuki Mian Channu Motors has stepped in to put an end to the online frenzy, confirming that there are no plans to revive the iconic mini-hatchback — once dubbed “The Boss” on Pakistani roads.

The speculation began earlier this week when a series of AI-generated videos went viral on social media, showcasing a futuristic kei car design branded as the “Mehran 2025.” With polished 3D visuals and sleek animations, these videos gave many viewers the impression that Suzuki was preparing to relaunch the car with a modern twist.

The misleading content spread like wildfire, particularly on platforms like Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok. It wasn't long before several clickbait news sites jumped on the trend, fueling the fire with supposed specs and pricing details. These reports claimed the alleged new Mehran would be priced between Rs. 1.2 million and Rs. 1.6 million — a highly competitive bracket in Pakistan’s budget car segment.

False Hope Dispelled

However, the hopes of nostalgic car lovers were short-lived. Pak Suzuki Mian Channu Motors issued a firm and clear public statement stating that no such project is underway. The company reiterated that there are no intentions to relaunch the Suzuki Mehran — neither with a facelift nor in a new generation.

“All rumors circulating online regarding the return of Suzuki Mehran are entirely baseless,” the dealership stated. “We urge the public to ignore AI-generated videos and false reports from unverified sources.”

This clarification puts an end to the hype that had rekindled hopes among die-hard Mehran fans, many of whom still regard the model as one of the most affordable and reliable cars ever sold in the country.

The Mehran Legacy

The Suzuki Mehran was officially discontinued in March 2019, ending a production run that spanned over three decades. Despite its minimalistic features and basic safety profile, the car was known for its affordability, durability, and easy maintenance — qualities that made it a top choice for millions of Pakistani families.

Nicknamed “The Boss,” the Mehran became a cultural icon, especially among first-time car buyers. It was later replaced by the Suzuki Alto, which continues to serve the small car market in Pakistan.

As for now, the nostalgia lives on, but the Suzuki Mehran is not returning, and any rumors suggesting otherwise have been put to rest by the automaker itself.
