Veteran allrounder Mohammad Nabi, Afghanistan's most-capped ODI player, has announced plans to retire from One-Day Internationals following the Champions Trophy 2025. Nabi, who made his debut in Afghanistan’s maiden ODI against Scotland in 2009, revealed his retirement decision after his side’s 2-1 series victory over Bangladesh in the UAE, where he was named Player of the Series.

Champions Trophy 2025

Nabi, now 39, expressed his desire to make this milestone event his swan song:
“We qualified for the Champions Trophy, and I felt if I could play that, it would be great. After that, we will say goodbye to ODIs.”
