Two Women Burnt in House Fire in Khanewal

In another distressing incident, a house in Chak 36/10R, Katcha Khu, Khanewal, was set ablaze by unidentified individuals. Two women, Sakina Bibi (52) and her daughter-in-law Ramzana Bibi (30), sustained severe burn injuries.

Rescue 1122 responded promptly and shifted the victims to the Khanewal District Headquarters Hospital for urgent medical care. Authorities are investigating the arson to identify and apprehend those responsible.

Corruption Crackdown: Patwari Arrested for Bribe in Shorkot

In Shorkot, a revenue patwari was arrested red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) while accepting a Rs50,000 bribe. The accused, identified as Asim Azeem, had demanded the bribe from Ghulam Shabbir to transfer inherited property.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Toseef, with marked currency notes recovered from the patwari. The ACE has reiterated its commitment to rooting out corruption and ensuring justice for citizens.

Rape Case in Gojra: Police Hunt for Suspect

A heinous crime was reported in Chak 348 JB, Gojra, where a 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a suspect who forced his way into her house. According to the FIR lodged under Section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), an accomplice stood guard outside while the suspect committed the crime.

Police have launched raids to apprehend the accused and have assured the victim's family of swift justice.

Crackdown on Illegal Housing Schemes in Faisalabad

Commissioner Silwat Saeed has directed the Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) to intensify its efforts against illegal housing schemes in the region.

During a review meeting attended by Deputy Commissioner Nadeem Nasir and FDA Director General Muhammad Asif Chaudhry, the commissioner emphasized the need for a coordinated strategy involving the FDA, district administration, Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA), and other relevant institutions.

The following actions were proposed:

  1. Blocking Revenue Records: Revenue records of proposed plots in illegal schemes will be blocked to deter unauthorized developments.
  2. Marketing Efforts: A comprehensive marketing strategy will be launched to attract local and international investors for financial stability.
  3. Support for Operations: The administration will provide logistical and legal support for operations against illegal housing schemes.

This initiative aims to ensure citizens’ rights are protected and to uphold the law without external influence.
