Dadu, Pakistan – A Jamshoro additional sessions court has sentenced Ali Mohammad Rind and his son, Munir alias Farooq Rind, to death for the brutal murder of their close relatives in the name of honour.
The victims, 50-year-old Meer Rind and his 18-year-old daughter Ms Nimani, were killed in 2023 in Joghi Khan Rind village, near Sehwan. The tragic incident was reported in an FIR lodged by ASI Mohammad Saleem Rind at the Sehwan police station.
The Crime
The court found that the convicts murdered Meer Rind and his daughter over alleged suspicions of dishonoring the family. The crime, described as premeditated and brutal, was committed with no regard for human life.
The judge emphasized that such actions perpetuate a culture of violence and oppression, reinforcing the need for severe consequences.
The Verdict
In addition to the death penalty, the court imposed a fine of Rs200,000 each on the father and son.
“The severity of this punishment reflects the court’s commitment to addressing honour-based violence,” the verdict read.
