The Foreign Office of Pakistan has rejected claims that China is planning to deploy its own security personnel to protect Chinese nationals in Pakistan. During a weekly media briefing, FO spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch called these reports "motivated" and based on unreliable sources.

“Pakistan and China’s counter-terrorism collaboration is built on mutual respect for sovereignty,” Baloch asserted. She urged against speculation that aims to misrepresent the strong Pakistan-China relationship.

This response follows a Reuters report suggesting Beijing requested permission for Chinese security personnel after a recent car bombing in Karachi highlighted security concerns. Last month, Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong called attacks on Chinese nationals "unacceptable," stressing the need for improved safety measures.

The Foreign Office reassured China of Pakistan's dedication to ensuring the security of Chinese citizens while reaffirming the strength of their bilateral ties and continued counter-terrorism cooperation.
