Pakistan Launches Nationwide Hajj Training Program, Inaugural Session Held in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs has initiated mandatory Hajj training for pilgrims under the government scheme, with the first session held on Saturday in Peshawar. Over 200 pilgrims attended the session, which is part of a broader plan to conduct training at 147 locations across the country before Ramadan.

The training aims to prepare pilgrims for the sacred journey by teaching them the administrative requirements, Hajj rituals, and guidelines for their time in Saudi Arabia. Using audiovisual material, the sessions will address practical challenges, ensuring pilgrims are well-prepared for their spiritual journey.

Comprehensive Nationwide Training

According to the ministry's spokesperson, Muhammad Umair Butt, the sessions will run from January 18 to February 27 across all provinces. The first session was hosted at a private educational institution in Peshawar, with enthusiastic participation.

“In line with Saudi government instructions, these training sessions are crucial to ensure pilgrims are familiar with the Hajj process and rituals,” Butt said. He added that the sessions will include detailed demonstrations on how to use the Pak Hajj 2025 mobile application, which was launched to facilitate pilgrims.

The app, available for both Android and iOS devices, provides essential information and guidance to Hajj pilgrims, making the process more accessible and efficient.

Key Details of the Training Program

  • Session Format: Each session consists of two sittings, lasting approximately three hours each.
  • Topics Covered: Administrative guidelines, rituals, overcoming common challenges, and effective use of the mobile app.
  • Target Locations: 147 centers nationwide.

Positive Response from Participants

Pilgrims who attended the first session expressed their appreciation for the detailed and practical information provided.

Mujib-ur-Rehman Bhatti, a resident of Peshawar’s Gulbahar neighborhood, praised the initiative, saying:
"The training addressed all our questions and highlighted important details that can ease our journey."

Ali Khan, a Civil Aviation official planning to perform Hajj with his family, called the session a "brilliant program."
"It was a well-organized session with practical advice. This training will help avoid stress during the Hajj journey," he said.
