Senior Punjab Minister Maryam Aurangzeb outlined the emergency measures during a press briefing, emphasizing immediate steps to mitigate the crisis.
Emergency Measures and Restrictions:
- Complete Lockdown: A three-day lockdown will be enforced in Lahore and Multan, from Friday to Sunday.
- Construction Ban: All construction activities will be halted from Saturday through the following Sunday.
- Advisories for Residents: Citizens are urged to limit outdoor travel, especially on motorcycles, and wear masks when stepping outside.
- Healthcare Preparedness: Hospitals have been instructed to cancel staff leaves and stock essential medicines.
- School and Business Adjustments: Schools will remain closed for an additional week, with colleges and universities shifting to online classes. Restaurants will offer dine-in services until 4 PM, with takeaway available until 8 PM.
