Lahore Qalandars Blow Away Karachi Kings in PSL X Showdown with All-Round Firepower

Batting first, Lahore recovered confidently after early setbacks, thanks to a sensational 125-run third-wicket partnership between Fakhar Zaman and New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell. Fakhar smashed a brilliant 76 off 47 balls, featuring 6 fours and 5 towering sixes. Mitchell was equally destructive with a 41-ball 75, peppered with 9 boundaries and 2 sixes.

Despite Karachi’s Hasan Ali pulling off a superb four-wicket haul (4-28), the late flourish from Sikandar Raza (10* off 5) and Sam Billings (19 off 10) ensured Lahore posted a formidable 201-6 in their 20 overs.

In response, Karachi Kings’ chase began in disaster. Qalandars skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi struck in the very first over, removing both openers — David Warner and James Vince — for ducks. With Rishad Hossain tightening the screws in the middle overs, Karachi crumbled to 46-5 within eight overs.

While Khushdil Shah (39 off 27) and Hasan Ali (27 off 25) offered brief resistance with a 48-run partnership, it wasn’t enough to overcome the mounting pressure. Rishad and Shaheen ended with three wickets each, and Sikandar Raza polished off the innings by dismissing the last man, sealing Karachi’s fate at 136 all out in 19.1 overs.

The win takes Lahore Qalandars to their second victory in PSL X, and they look increasingly dangerous with every game.
