Pakistan to Get New Currency Notes, State Bank Confirms
KARACHI – August 1, 2025
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has finalized a new design for the country’s currency notes, Governor Mr. Jameel Ahmad announced at a press briefing on Wednesday. This move marks a significant step toward modernizing the currency system and enhancing note security.
“We’ve completed the design selection process. The next step will begin after getting final approval from the Cabinet,” Governor Ahmad stated.
The newly designed notes were created by an international expert, selected through an official design process. The redesign is intended to prevent counterfeiting, add advanced security features, and give Pakistan’s currency a modern look and feel.
