Opening of Educational Institutions in Lahore and Multan
Educational institutions in Lahore and Multan will reopen from November 20, 2024, with safety measures including staggered timings and a ban on outdoor activities.
In reference to office order No. 123/DG/EPA/2024 dated 12.11.2024 and Letter No. 135/DG/EPA/2024 dated 18.11.2024, which addressed the closure or online mode shift of educational institutions due to air quality concerns:
- The air quality in Punjab has significantly improved following rainfall in the northern regions, along with a change in wind direction and speed. As a result, all educational institutions across the province, including Lahore and Multan Divisions, will reopen on November 20, 2024 (Wednesday) with physical attendance of students and staff. The following restrictions and precautionary measures will be enforced:
i. School Timings: No educational institution shall begin before 08:45 AM.
ii. Face Masks: All students and staff are required to wear face masks.
iii. Outdoor Activities: A complete ban on outdoor sports and co-curricular activities will remain in place until further notice.
iv. School Closing Timings: Each institution must introduce class-wise closing times to reduce traffic congestion.
These measures are being taken to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff while maintaining a smooth academic process.
