Pakistan’s Information Technology (IT) sector has achieved significant growth, earning $876.457 million from IT service exports in the first quarter (July-September) of fiscal year 2024-25. This marks a 33.69% increase compared to the same period last year when exports were $655.606 million.
Key Highlights:
- Computer Services Growth: The computer services sector led the growth, rising 39.38% to $744.571 million.
- Software Consultancy Services: Up 39.68% to $254.740 million.
- Repair and Maintenance Services: Remarkable 102.12% growth, reaching $0.579 million.
- Other Computer Services: Increased by 77.15%, totaling $348.241 million.
- Information Services Surge: A staggering 1148.24% increase to $9.011 million, with news agency services seeing a sharp 2141.76% rise to $8.646 million.
- Telecommunication Services: Experienced a modest 1.83% growth, totaling $122.874 million, driven by a 25.63% rise in call center services, which reached $68.352 million.
These impressive figures, reported by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), underscore the vitality of Pakistan’s IT sector and its crucial role in boosting the country's foreign exchange reserves.
