Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has called on the global community to take tangible steps to establish peace in the Middle East, stating that mere condemnation of Israeli actions is not enough. He urged Muslim leaders to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people in their fight for justice and human rights.

In his speech at the Council of Foreign Ministers Preparatory Meeting for the Second Arab-Islamic Summit, Dar emphasized several key points:

  • Immediate and Unconditional Ceasefire: An urgent halt to violence in Gaza and nearby regions.
  • Humanitarian Aid Access: Ensuring unrestricted aid flow to Palestinians.
  • UNRWA Protection: Opposing Israel's criticism of the UN Relief and Works Agency.
  • Full Implementation of UNGA Resolution ES-10/24: Supporting Palestine’s bid for full UN membership and exploring legal means to hold Israel accountable for alleged war crimes.

Additionally, Dar proposed an arms embargo on Israel, a review of Israel's UN membership, and the appointment of a Joint Arab-Islamic Special Envoy to advance summit resolutions.

These remarks precede Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s upcoming address at the Second Arab-Islamic Summit in Riyadh, where he is expected to reaffirm Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace.
