Cuttack: England set a competitive total of 304 in the second ODI against India, with Joe Root (69), Ben Duckett (65), and Liam Livingstone (41 off 32) leading the charge. However, India’s spinners, led by Ravindra Jadeja (3-35), staged an impressive comeback, preventing England from capitalizing on a strong start.

After a promising 81-run opening stand between Duckett and Phil Salt, England seemed on track for 330+ runs, but a dramatic collapse saw them lose their last seven wickets for just 85 runs, including three run-outs. Skipper Jos Buttler (29) and Harry Brook (36) made brief contributions, but England’s middle order failed to accelerate in the death overs.

Jadeja’s all-round brilliance, supported by Varun Chakravarthy and Axar Patel, tightened the noose on England’s batting lineup. Despite Livingstone’s late blitz, India managed to restrict England to a chaseable total, setting the stage for an exciting second innings.
