ISLAMABAD: The Toshakhana case against prominent leaders Nawaz Sharif, Asif Ali Zardari, and Yusuf
Raza Gilani is nearing closure as NAB (National Accountability Bureau) prepares to withdraw it from
the Accountability Court, citing the case’s value as below Rs500 million. A senior NAB source
revealed that following the Supreme Court's recent decision on NAB amendments, the case no
longer falls under NAB’s jurisdiction, as it does not meet the amended threshold.
The Supreme Court's ruling revalidated NAB law changes from the previous government, which
require that corruption cases under Rs500 million be outside NAB’s scope. Consequently, NAB’s
prosecution team will request the court to return the case for reassessment.
The case initially involved allegations of acquiring vehicles from foreign countries, including two
BMWs and a Toyota Lexus, by Nawaz, Zardari, Gilani, and others.
