Mohammad Asif, Pakistan's renowned cueist, has made history by becoming the World Snooker Champion for the third time. In a thrilling finale at the IBSF World Snooker Championship in Qatar, Asif defeated Iran's Asian champion Ali Ghareghozlou 5-3 to secure
the coveted title.

Asif's outstanding performance throughout the tournament was capped off with a dominating display in the 9-frame final. His victory ties him with India's Pankaj Advani, who has also won the World Snooker Championship three times. Remarkably, Asif set a record
by making six century breaks during the tournament.

This achievement marks Asif's third World Snooker Championship title, following his previous wins in 2012 and 2019. The 42-year-old Faisalabad native has cemented his status as one of Pakistan's greatest snooker players.

The snooker community and Pakistani officials have poured in congratulations for Asif's outstanding victory. Alamgir Sheikh, Chairman of the Pakistan Snooker and Billiards Association, hailed Asif's win as a great honor for Pakistan. Officials expressed hopes that
Asif's achievement will receive due recognition and accolades, much like Arshad Nadeem's gold medal in javelin throw at the Paris Olympics.

Asif's remarkable win has sparked widespread celebration and pride in Pakistan, solidifying his position as a national sports icon. His dedication and skill have inspired a new generation of Pakistani snooker players, ensuring a bright future for the sport in the country.
